Our primary goals are an organized approach to your child’s dance education and a conservative, wholesome, non-competitive atmosphere for the presentation of “Dance as an Art.” We place emphasis on the study of dance through technique classes and make careful choices in age appropriate dance style, music and costuming. Each of our staff members strives to be a good role model for your young person.

Class Absences
Students who miss their regular class should ask for a class make-up time. Individual class make-ups are not given. Call if your child must be absent for class. Credit is given only for extended illness or snow days not rescheduled.
Schedule
Our schedule is adjusted according to demand for our studio space and staff availability. Classes begin on the announced date in late August and continue through the May recital. We observe only the following holidays: Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Good Friday. If Fall Break or Spring Break is taken, you will be notified. We do not dismiss class for teachers’ meetings or other school holidays. When schools dismiss early because of bad weather, our classes may be cancelled. Confirm any class cancellation with Ms. Gay.
Call (423) 735-0929 or email jergaywhitt@gmail.com if there are any questions.
Dance Recitals
Private recitals for parents and guests are in May according to theater availability. You have the choice of recital participation for your dancer. A costume deposit of $50 is due by December 10 with the balance due (or credit) by March 10. If possible, dancewear is used in the recital to reduce costs and to have items to wear in class later. We measure dancers and order costuming.
Dancers usually perform one dance for each subject studied. Flash pictures & video recording are permitted at rehearsals ONLY and not permitted at recital.
Recital DVDs are available for purchase. A recital fee is billed with the April tuition to cover related performance costs; this fee includes a CD of recital music. There is no recital admission charge – no tickets are needed. Dancers may invite 15 guests including parents.
Tuition
Tuition is set according to levels, subjects and performing classes. Please call Ms Gay at 735-0929 to discuss registration, tuition and class placement for your dancer.
