“Ms. Gay” directs the overall dance program and the daily operations of GWSOD Erwin Studio; is a former faculty member of Dansorama Convention and Carolina Dance Masters Convention; was a Talent Judge for Little Miss North Carolina and past judge of the Miss Bristol Pageant; was the director and producer of the Miss Historic Jonesborough Pageant for more than 20 years. Ms. Gay is a member of Dance Masters, Dance Educators, National Association of Dance and Affilated Artists (NADAA) and the International Tap Association and celebrates 65 years as a Dance Educator. One of the greatest joys in her career as a dance educator is the time shared with students in the classroom where dance lessons, as well as life lessons are taught. You can expect that your child will be guided in kindness as well as in manners and discipline.
Amy Gay Whitt
Amy Gay Whitt returns as a staff member of the Erwin Studio. “Ms. Amy” is now teaching alongside her mother, “Ms. Gay”, and has extensive dance training with concentration on tap and jazz. As a young dancer, she was selected the winner of the Dansorama “Backhandspring Competition” after completing 24 continuous backhandsprings!! Amy is a graduate of Carson-Newman University and currently serves as the Forensic Interviewer at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Sullivan County. Her love of children is very evident through the positive way in which she impacts their lives.
